The Story of One & Only BBQ
In the Fall of 2011, during a lively discussion at our weekly poker game, the owners of One & Only BBQ had a similar vision. A vision of a great little barbecue restaurant. A place that treated people special. They wondered if they could compete in Memphis, a city so proud of its barbecue, some even say that it is the barbecue capital of the world. Five years later, One & Only BBQ made it to the final five in the Commercial Appeal’s “Memphis Most”, for the best ribs and the best barbecue sandwich in Memphis. Over the years, the Memphis community has made One & Only BBQ a big hit! Our third location opened in February 2017 and is located on Germantown Parkway, directly across from the Agricenter International. With catering leading the way, One & Only BBQ is becoming a force in Memphis-style, slow smoked barbecue.
Great BBQ Is Hard Work!
We smoke our meats daily at each of our locations with 100% hickory wood! This includes our fresh, never frozen, whole bone-in pork shoulders, which are seasoned and smoked for 15 hours. Our moist, tender, fresh chicken and turkey are marinated, smoked, and lightly seasoned. Our pork baby back ribs are marinated for 24 hours before they are hickory smoked and then finished on our grill. We serve top quality rope Polish Kielbasa sausage. Our twice-baked potato salad was voted #22 in the Memphis Yelp community’s list of “top 100 dishes in Memphis you must eat before you die”. Millie’s Banana Pudding is house-made daily with fresh meringue. It’s no wonder that last year alone, our guests devoured over 7,000 half pans of Millie’s Banana Pudding! It’s the perfect way to end each meal.
